Last week we posted on Facebook that our Product Manager Nelli was so kind as to bring us nice smelling, radiant looking Freesias for the office after having visited some flower markets in the city.
Everybody at FloraQueen has been thrilled with this surprise treat. Everywhere we looked, you saw yellow Freesias and when closing your eyes just for a minute you were taken away from the desk and the computer to a floral oasis……..
Office Freesias
Freesias are very popular spring flowers known for their strong scent. The flower colors range from white to yellow, pink, red and blue-mauve. Because of their specific and pleasing scent, they are often used in hand creams, shampoos, candles, etc
I am sorry, we can’t give you tips on how to create a cream or a candle but we can tell you what to do to keep them fresh and radiant longer…..
Looking at the calendar, I noticed that today our office Freesias have survived a week and are still looking pretty good. We figured we passed the test and can share with you some helpful tips about what we have done to keep them happy.
:: Freesias are susceptible to ethylene gas, so keep them away from fruit and cigarettes
:: Put your Freesias in a cool location and out of direct sunlight
:: Check the water daily and make sure to add tepid fresh water if needed
:: Remove any damaged or dying flowers
:: Recut 1 cm from flower stems every 2nd day, to maintain the water uptake
:: Make sure when cutting the stems that the cut is angled and not flat so that the flower stems do not rest on the bottom of the vase
