Can you tell us about yourself in a few words?
I am a retired head teacher, aged 85 and live in a village called Dwygyfylchi which is in Snowdonia North Wales. I love my garden and spend many hours working in it. I am also an artist and enjoy capturing the wonders of the landscape with my canvas.

The occasion was my son’s 25th wedding anniversary.
What was the reaction of your recipient?
My son was delighted that I had remembered and my daughter in law was equally pleased that I had chosen her favourite colour flowers.

I often send flowers to friends and relatives.
Do you usually keep flowers at home?
I always have flowers in my home, some of which are bought, but throughout the summer I pick them myself from my garden.
Why do you think flowers are the best way to make someone smile?
Flowers make people smile because they are bright and beautiful and they let people know that you are thinking of them.
What kind of flowers do you like to receive? What do they symbolise for you?
I like all flowers but have a particular fondness for blue ones. Blue is my favourite colour and that’s probably because it is my birth stone colour.
