Flower delivery to Haarlem
Haarlem is, in many ways, a typical Dutch city with its winding medieval streets and buildings. Founded in the 13th century, Haarlem's long history is evident as the visitor strolls round the centre. The centrepiece is the Grote Markt, the main square, home to a number of wonderful buildings, including the cathedral and the city hall. A lovely square, full of pavement cafés, it is a great place to relax in and watch the world go by over a glass of Dutch beer.
Beer was, in fact, one of the city's main industries for centuries. After dying out in the 18th century, traditional recipes have recently been revived. The city is also famous in the Netherlands for its shops, from the main high street stores to smaller independent boutiques.
Haarlem's past as a centre for artists is reflected in its museums, the Frans Hals Museum has a fine collection of Dutch painting and a lovely garden.
We mustn't forget tulips when talking about Haarlem, a major production centre for hundreds of years; the flowers are a riot of colour in spring. And tulips may well form the basis of a bouquet if you want to send the gift of a flower delivery to Haarlem.
