Did you forget to send flowers for Administrative Professionals’ Day? Oh dear… Don’t worry; it’s not too late to remedy that. Your poor overworked employee will appreciate the token gesture that you can provide them with – a gift card, a bouquet or, if you know them quite well, then how about choosing an original gift that you know they will love?
At least you have acknowledged that you forgot and are trying to make up for it with flowers, a gift or lunch out rather than just ignoring the situation.
That’s actually the worst thing you can do. Don’t ignore the situation and pretend that you hadn’t noticed… also don’t be too official about it either. If you feel embarrassed about forgetting then leave the gift on their desk with a little note of explanation… Just make sure it’s not like this one.

I know these flowers are a little late in arriving but I really want to say ‘sorry for forgetting about Administrative Professionals’ Day’… again.
You see, the thing is, running a multi-million dollar business is not as easy as it looks, I don’t just kick back in my chair and shoot golf balls around my office. Well, I do, but not all day. You see, when you are sitting out here counting your paper clips or whatever it is that you do, then as my administrative professional I kind of expected you to maybe give me a little reminder? It’s why you have that diary on your desk!
Anyway, don’t let me forget next year and if it helps then it might be worth jotting it down in your 2015 diary now.
Hope you like the flowers, they’re pink – all girls like pink right?!
In the meantime, if you could just get those spreadsheets done by noon, then that would be fantastic.
