the wedding bouquet: What are the latest trends?

This summer it is certain that the most popular style of bouquet is going to be flowers full of vibrant colours, especially if the wedding is going to take place outdoors. Reds, purples and oranges are the most common colours when trying to create a vibrant wedding bouquet, with the most popular flowers in these colours being roses, carnations and gerberas. These bouquets go really well with simpler cut dresses as these allow the bouquet to really grab the attention of all guests. This trend is really taking off because what is a wedding other than an excuse to be happy and celebrate life? Bright flowers bring a smile to everyones face!

An additional style that we predict big things for this summer is the theme of bouquets that are both less structured and symmetrical. These give a more wild look, which will be perfect for brides who decide to go for a bohemian style. These wedding bouquets can be made with a variety of flowers, but usually are made up of classic roses and peonies and a few less common flowers such as lavender.

In a recent blog we explored the most popular bridal hairstyles with flowers and its fair to say that having flowers in the hair is a great addition to any bridal look. Here, we saw the stunning look of a flower crown with a matching bouquet. In this more understated bohemian style, the pastel colours combined with greenery work really well to give a balanced feel. We know that this is going to be a very popular look in weddings across the world during the coming summer months.

Looking at where this couple had their wedding is enough to make us all very jealous! Having a tropical wedding is what we all dream of, isn’t it? Here, the bride’s wedding bouquet is also made up of the pastel colours and we can see that this works really well with the tropical surroundings. Whilst these pastel colours are more understated than the bouquets we saw earlier, the bright pink still manages to make this a happy, summer bouquet!

Having seen all of these styles, we shouldn’t forget one which has been popular for decades and will stay so for decades to come. We are of course talking about the classical wedding bouquet, which is much smaller and symmetrical with softer colours. Often these bouquets will be nearly completely white with just hint of colour. Peonies in all varieties and sizes will always be the go to flower for this style.
