Catching Up With Autumn 2018 Celebrity Floral Fashion Trends

It’s no secret that flowers and fashion often cross over. During the last few months, it’s been truer than ever. Following a busy summer and autumn in the world of celebrity floral fashion, we’ve been catching up with all the happenings.

Here’s our look at the brightest and boldest new styles seen in floral fashion recently:

Emma Stone’s red carpet hair bouquet

Emma Stone is well known for her love of floral fashion. Consequently this year she took it a step further. Whilst appearing on the red carpet at the New York Film festival Emma brought a bouquet of 12 red roses with her, in her hair. This design brought to life by stylist Mara Roszak was an impressive reimagining of the classic flower arrangement, with each rose being carefully arranged into her hairdo in a cascading form.

Everyone was talking about Princess Eugenie’s wedding

Royal weddings are always floral affairs and the wedding fo Princess Eugenie and Jack Brookbank was certainly no exception. While it wasn’t quite as huge an event as Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding in May, it was still one of autumn’s biggest floral talking points. In keeping with their sustainable wedding plan they used mainly British and other local flowers. Many were sourced from Windsor Royal Park where the ceremony took place. The florals, designed by Rob Van Helden really captured the autumnal feel of the British countryside around Windsor with red and orange colours really standing out. The bouquet of course included many significant flowers for the Royals such as myrtle as well as lily of the valley and white spray roses.

Beyoncé’s Vogue cover turned heads

Beyoncé making the cover of Vogue is nothing new. However, for the September cover this year, she was rewriting the style rule-book as always with this eye-grabbing flower headband created by Phil John Perry. His spectacular creation, reminiscent of 17th Century powdered wigs, really took garlands to the next level with its wild blooms.

Rihanna’s Vogue cover turned just as many

Not to be outdone, British Vogue also impressed with fresh flower headwear in it’s September issue. This time however it was Rihanna doing the modelling of the unique designs created by Japanese flower artist Makoto Azuma. Together he and a team of stylists and make-up artists brought floristry and fashion harmoniously together to create a look that, in his own words, would embody “the notion of beauty, strength and vitality”. From the results we’ve seen, we’re pretty sure that he succeeded.

And then flower vase hair really took off

With Rihanna and Beyoncé getting the trend well and truly rolling, Instagrammers and social media influencers were next to follow. One of these personalities was Taylor R who using the hashtag  #flowervasehair modelled her own hair-raising attempts at floral headwear on the streets of Hong Kong. This head-turning design became a popular style to try in the Instagram community with many others trying their hand (and head) at it.
