If you follow our Facebook page, you will most probably have noticed several examples of creativity inspired by flowers and nature. Whether it is a large dome made of steel flowers or light producing plants, the creative ideas inspired by flowers are endless. Let’s go through a list of very diverse creations together. Their common theme is flowers of course.

  1. Flower crockery

Louise Olsen and Stephen Ormandy are two designers from Dinosaur Designs. They came up with the idea of creating a collection of crockery with an amazing design, directly inspired by nature and flowers. They named this collection “Flower” and it is available in plates, bowls and even spoons. During meal times, these products will look perfect with a beautiful mixed bouquet of flowers, placed in the centre of the table.

  1. Light with plants

Plants absorb light to nourish themselves, but there will soon be plants which emit light. You will find these aptly named “Glowing plants” on the crowdfunding site Kickstarter. With these plants, you will be able to light up certain rooms in your home; an original way of lighting up your home.

  1. Brussels flower carpet

The Brussels flower carpet is a giant carpet composed of flowers which is displayed in Brussels’ Grand-Place every two years, during the Assumption weekend. The carpet measures 77 meters by 24 metres and is made up of nearly one million begonias. The immense floral fresco is designed and prepared nearly one year prior to the event. The next Flower Carpet will be unveiled in 2016.

  1. The Wisteria Tunnel

Although Japan is nearly 10,000 km away, it is an inspiring destination which attracts many tourists. As foreigners flock in mass towards Tokyo they often forget other cities which also boast remarkable monuments. Kitakyushu, a city situated 1,000 km west of Tokyo, offers its visitors a site which exists nowhere else on Earth: the Kawachi Fuji garden. This magical place is called the Wisteria Tunnel. Wisteria is in fact a climbing ligneous plant with white, purple and blue flowers. The height of the blooming season, between April and mid-May, is the best time to visit the garden.
