FLOWER DELIVERY TO KOSICE
The former Capital of Culture and the economic centre of eastern Slovakia, Kosice is the second largest city in the country, surpassed only by Bratislava, its capital. The second president, Rudolf Schuster, was born here, and Stephen Bocskaty, a Transylvanian prince died in Kosice. This metropolis boasts the oldest recorded coat of arms in Europe. The old town was referred to in official documents dating back from 1203 as ‘Villa Kasa’, and is now known as ‘The City of Tolerance’, based on its multicultural heritage. The oldest annual European marathon, the Kosice International Peace Marathon, was first organised in 1924, with only 8 participants.
A local monument of as much importance to the city’s 18th century residents as well as to those of today is the Immaculata, or Plague Pillar, a column erected where once stood the town’s medieval gallows, as thanksgiving for the end of the plague epidemic. The grandest local festivity is the annual, week-long Kosice Day Festival, when knight jousting is staged in the centre, while concerts and medieval craft markets flood the streets.
Sending a flower gift basket or a carefully hand-picked bouquet is a touching gesture and a flower delivery to Kosice is destined to be a delightful surprise for your loved ones.
